Liaison Office for Integrated Traineeships (KOOR/BEST)

The coordination office for the practical semesters (KOOR) is a state-wide institution for all Universities of Applied Sciences in Baden-Württemberg. KOOR is located at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences and is subject to the principal.

Our functions:
The Ministry of Sciences, Research and Arts conferred KOOR
- To clarify the key questions of the practical semesters
- To conclude a release from employment authorisation for foreign students
- To accomplish tasks for special programs such as the support for work placements within the EU-mobility scheme

To accomplish the European "Lifelong Learning Program (LLP) / Erasmus+", the Erasmus consortium "Baden-Württemberg Partnership for the Exchange of Students, Graduates and Knowledge Transfer" (BEST) was added to KOOR.

KOOR/BEST conducts the Erasmus placement programme for 41 universities in Baden-Württemberg. Through this programme, students and graduates can be supported for doing practical semesters and work placements in Europe.

In collaboration with the International Offices and the offices in charge of practical semesters of the member universities, KOOR/BEST helps the students to find a suitable work placement. In addition, KOOR/BEST advises the students and graduates who found a work placement on basic issues such as insurance, permit of residence and work permit.

KOOR/BEST supports foreign students who plan a stay in Germany in order to gain practical experiences with the exemption from the work permit at the ZAV.
