The International Program at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences is designed to meet the needs and interests of international exchange students with the aim of offering them a successful study period at the university. The program is composed of lectures given by faculties and additional courses built up in accordance with the interests of international students. Through the special courses tailored to their needs, the students become easily acquainted with their new study environment. The courses with their German fellow students offer the opportunity to interact in an international environment and to do group project work within the study field, as well as work in interdisciplinary groups. The study program will thus support the international career development of our incoming exchange students.
The courses are scheduled to give great flexibility in the selection of individual courses and space for individual and group study as well as the opportunity to acquire a sufficient number of Credit Points.
The morning lectures (from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.) taking from two to four teaching hours each throughout the semester are in most cases given by professors of the university. In the afternoon, students are offered special seminars providing additional knowledge of specific skills and competencies which are indispensable in a global world of business and trade, as well as in transnational projects inside international enterprises. These seminars take place in periods of three weeks each. This gives students flexible opportunities to participate in various courses and seminars and to do project work in parallel. The teaching staff of the seminars also includes representatives of high level management of business and industry with wide experience in and up-to-date knowledge of the respective field.
