Program Duration

As established in the respective Curriculum and Examination regulations,  Bachelor's programs have a standard duration of 6, 7 or 8 program semesters and Master's programs 3 or 4 program semesters. The following list shows the semester in which the traineeship takes place for each study program as well as the program's division into introductory courses and advanced studies. (Traineeship semesters are marked T; introductory course semesters are marked intro, and advanced studies are marked adv)

Students should be aware that they need to keep to a certain timeframe: they must pass the study credits of the first semester at the latest by the third study semester, and the study credits of the first and second semester no later than the fourth semester. In case of further delay, they must place a "Härteantrag" (application for recognition of hardship).

The maximum program duration for Bachelor's programs must not exceed 9, 10 or 11 semesters, and for Master's programs, 6 or 7 semesters. If the maximum program duration is exceeded, the student by law loses his / her student status and right to sit exams. In this case, please get information about exception regulations at the Registrar's Office.
