Students preparing the magazine at the HsKA studio

ExtraHertz – the students’ TV magazine

The students’ TV magazine "ExtraHertz" is produced by students of Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences. Once a week it is broadcasted on cable TV channel R-TV as well as in high definition on HD-Campus-TV. You can also watch it online at www.extrahertz.de.

The magazine concept of "ExtraHertz" was jointly created by the University of Music Karlsruhe and Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences in order to promote the multimedia skills of the students at both universities. Financially supported by LFK (Media Authority of Baden-Württemberg), the students were able to set up their own studio with the required equipment, digital cameras and computer-editing-stations which allow them to create and edit their video journalism contributions.

"Hörbar": the radio magazine of Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences

"Hörbar" the radio magazine of HsKA is broadcasted every Tuesday on UKW frequency 104.8 from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. It is a joint project with the University of Music Karlsruhe. Two student editors are responsible for the individual contributions and the moderation of the "learn radio program".

The concept is primarily aimed at a younger audience and is meant to briefly inform them in an entertaining way about the diversity of the university.

Not only is a new Hörbar segment presented every two weeks, but an online version and digital audio contributions are also created for the program archive website and the university website.

The editorial team will be happy to receive any feedback on the segments and contributions!
