Continuing education
Great international demand for "Refrigeration and Air Conditioning" course at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences
From 12 to 23 September 2011, Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences is conducting for the third time the international course "Refrigeration and Air Conditioning" organized by the Liaison Office for Continuing Education in the Sciences - with worldwide resonance, e.g. from participants from India, Poland, Denmark, Mexico, China and Russia who are not put off by the distance to Karlsruhe and will take part in the 10-day continuing education course.
The curriculum does not only cover the basics, such as components and systems of the latest refrigeration and air conditioning technology. In addition, it includes special subjects, e.g. commercial, industrial and transportation refrigeration as well as the structure of state-of-the art air conditioning systems. Moreover, participants are informed of the latest developments in climate protection and energy efficiency.
To demonstrate the practical relevance and the interplay of the individual components more clearly, the theory imparted in lectures is directly put into practice in the university’s laboratories. The intensive course is rounded off by visits to companies using state-of-the art refrigerating systems, such as the Bellheimer Brewery and supermarkets.
In the end, the participants take a test. If they successfully pass, they are awarded a university certificate.
ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) credits are also awarded for the annual course. Participants earn 4 ECTS points for their participation. This also makes the course interesting for students enrolled in master degree programs in related fields.
The next course is scheduled for 10 to 21 September 2012. For further information on the course, please contact Prof. Dr. Michael Kauffeld, Head of the Institute of Refrigeration, Air-Conditioning, and Environmental Technology at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences, email: michael.kauffeld[at]hs-karlsruhe.de or kww[at]hs-karlsruhe.de, or see the course description.
