Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC)

Course Profile
Course NameRefrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC)
Objective

The Refrigeration and Air Conditioning course provides insights in how thermodynamic principles are applied within the air conditioning and refrigeration industry. It gives details on how different components work and influence each other. Participants will learn how real systems used in commercial, industrial refrigeration and air conditioning industry are built up. Participants will gain practical knowledge through refrigeration practical training with hands-on experience incorporated in the course. Finally, technical visits to a carbon dioxide supermarket plant, an industrial ammonia installation as well as HFC air conditioning and commercial refrigeration systems will provide the necessary overview on refrigeration technology.

Target GroupThe RAC training course is intended for people who want to improve their knowledge and skills in refrigeration engineering. Ideally participants have a
technical background with some basics in thermodynamics and refrigeration technology.
Content
  • Thermodynamics, Refrigeration, Working fluids, Heat transfer
  • Compressors, Heat exchangers, Expansion valve
  • Two stage / cascade systems
  • Controls
  • Simulation
