Belgien - Antwerp Summer University

Due to the covid-19 pandemic the Antwerp Summer University programme for 2020 has been adjusted: some summer schools taking place in June and July are postponed to 2021 while others will be offered fully online. Summer schools scheduled in August and September will go ahead as planned until further notice. A few of these programmes will go digital as well if necessary.

Dänemark - University of Southern Denmark

On campus – or online: If the situation with the pandemic and/or closed borders should prevent us from hosting your students on our campuses, the majority of courses will be offered online instead; please see the individual course descriptions for more information. We expect to make the final decision about the summer school – on campus or on-line – in mid-May. We will inform all applicants as soon as possible and we kindly ask you not to make travel arrangements until you have heard from us.

SDU INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL: This year with a largely increased number of courses from four faculties.

Finnland, Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences - ICT

NOTE regarding possible changes due to COVID-19 pendamic! Currently we are planning to organise the ICT Summer School normally and enrolment for the courses is in May. However, this works only if the COVID-19 situation is fully under control in August and it is not anymore a threat to our health and wellbeing. We are constantly monitoring the situation and we will make the decision on how to organize the ICT Summer School 2020 on June 12, 2020 at latest. In case of cancellation of the face-to-face courses, some courses will be offered on-line.

Time: 3 - 28 August, 2020
Application period: 4 - 31 May, 2020
Target group: Students who want to study in an international atmosphere and are interested in information and communication technologies.
Fee: No tuition fees for students of Metropolia’s partner universities, although participating students need to pay for their travel, accommodation and subsistence expenses. Please contact AAA for confirmation that you study at HsKA and that your home university approves their participation in the ICT Summer School.
Location: This year, ICT Summer School courses are held in Metropolia Karamalmi campus (Karaportti 2, 02610 Espoo).

Alsace Tech und seine Partner TriRhenaTech und NovaTris organisieren für eine Gruppe von 15 deutsch- und 15 französischsprachigen Studierenden eine trinationale Summerschool vom 24. bis zum 31. August 2019 auf dem Campus Illberg in Mulhouse.

  • Eine andere Sprachpädagogik durch Tandemkurse entdecken: die Tandems aus einem französisch- und einem deutschsprachigen Studierenden werden von einem Sprachtutor begleitet
  • Interkulturelles Lernen und Projektarbeit in gemischten Teams im Bereich Industrie 4.0 oder Entrepreneurship
  • Kulturelle Ausflüge (Solarsiedlung "Quartier Vauban" in Freiburg, Brauerei Feierling) und Betriebsbesichtigung (Bürkert, usw.)
  • Informelle Momente (von Studierenden vorbereitete kulinarische Abende, Sportturniere, usw.)

Ort: Campus Illberg in Mulhouse, Stadtzentrum und zahlreiche kulturelle Freizeitmöglichkeiten in der Nähe (Freibad, Cité de l’automobile, Eisenbahnmuseum, Zoo) mit guter Anbindung durch öffentliche Verkehrsmittel

Für alle Studierenden mit guten Basiskenntnissen in Französisch (Niveau A2 oder B1)

Teilnahmekosten:
Eine Woche Halbpension Unterkunft in Einzimmerwohnungen, Frühstück und Mittagessen in der Mensa). 50€ pro StudentIn als Anmeldebestätigung der Anmeldung (Sie dienen der Kostendeckung für die Sprachtutoren).
Unterkunft und andere Kosten (geplante Besichtigungen) werden von den Mit-Organisatoren übernommen. Ein kleines Budget sollte für Abendessen und die Aktivitäten außerhalb der Summerschool „Die Brücke“ vorgesehen werden (die Abende sind frei gestaltbar)

Frankreich - UPPA, Sprachkurs

We are pleased to inform you that IEFE and UPPA organize a summer course of French as a Foreign Language in Anglet, at Montaury Campus in Anglet). This course will take place from 15 June to 10 July, 2020. It is open to students from A2 to C1.

If some of your students are interested in an intensive French course during their holidays in France, they can learn more at our website.

It is possible to book rooms or studios in university residence at lower cost, within the limits of available places.

Frankreich - UPPA, Business Analytics summer school

The IAE Pau-Bayonne and The Business Analytics Institute will again be offering a 10-day Summer School from July 3 to 12 2020 on our seaside campus on the French Basque coast for upper-and postgraduate students on the foundations of data science and heurisics. This unique summer session provides to the participants with a solid understanding of the practice of analytics – how to:

  • evaluate the data at hand,
  • apply the appropriate methodologies to specific types of professional challenges,
  • transform data into collective action.

This year’s session will highlight the applications of analytics in the fields of health and well-being.

Our professors and experts will help participants focus on best practices of work in the digital age, managerial decision-making, machine learning, community management and visual communications. Upon successful completion of this session, students will earn 4 ECTS from our University.

GB - Edinburgh College English Language Summer School

Due to the rapidly evolving Covid-19 (Coronavirus) situation, Edinburgh College has made the sad decision to cancel our Summer School for 2020.

Edinburgh College has been running adult summer school courses at Sighthill campus for more than 30 years, welcoming students aged 16 and over from all over the world to study English in July and August.

The Summer School offers students:

  • Qualified, experienced and enthusiastic teachers
  • Excellent facilities and services
  • Small class sizes (10 - 15 students per class)
  • Library and computer room access
  • All English levels from elementary to advanced
  • Edinburgh cultural festivals every summer.

Our summer courses during July and August offer varied, interesting and challenging English programmes in a friendly environment. You can choose between two core programmes.

2. General English + IELTS Preparation (24 hours per week)

GB - Glasgow Caledonian University International Summer School

Summer School Postponed: Glasgow Caledonian University takes the safety and wellbeing of our staff, students and visitors seriously. The unprecedented public health challenge around Covid-19 makes it impossible for us to continue with our plans towards running various events on-campus. Therefore it is with regret that we have made the decision to cancel the Summer School for July 2020. We are currently looking into plans for future opportunities for you to come to the university for an experience similar to that of Summer School. Lettland, Riga Technical University

Riga Technical University invites you to the inaugural Baltic School of High-Energy Physics and Accelerator Technologies organised by the CERN Baltic Group – an international collaboration of eight institutions from the three Baltic states. This school will be an intensive learning course covering topics of high-energy particle physics, from the basic theoretical frameworks to the cutting edge research at the Large Hadron Collider, as well as the principles, technologies and applications of particle accelerators.

The event will take place at the camping «Ronīši» on the coast of the Baltic sea from 10–14 August 2020. In addition to being located a few hundred metres from a white, sandy beach for the week, the participants will benefit from attending lectures by renowned and prominent lecturers:

  • Prof. Dr. Jonathan Ellis (King’s College London);
  • Prof. Dr. Yuri Dokshitzer (Sorbonne Université);
  • Prof. Dr. Matteo Cacciari (Univeristé de Paris);
  • Dr. Maurizio Vretenar (CERN).

As you know, the situation in the world is changing fast because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Polytechnic Summer Schools have made a difficult decision to move entirely online this summer. We believe this is the best course of action to support the health and safety of our students, our tutors, our staff, and our community, and we look forward to navigating these changes together with your students this summer. 

Energy School’s Summer Course will be transformed into online format with lectures, practical exercises and even a cultural programme. In order to do that with convenience for everyone and stability in scheduling and teaching, our team had made some adjustments to the Course.

Besides all 4 groups will be involved in wide cultural program: Russian language and culture class, Photo-cross around the city, visit to the Hermitage museum, trip to Pushkin with Amber room and many other additional activities with Adapter's Team.
