HsKA Academic Calendar
The academic year at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences HsKA is divided into 2 semesters of lectures, followed by the examination period and a lecture-free period. The exact dates are set by the Senate every semester in the semester academic calendar. The schedule usually follows this pattern:
Winter semester
September 1 - February 28 or 29
Duration of lectures: 15 weeks
Application deadline for exchange students: May 31
Application deadline for degree students: July 15
Start of lectures: Beginning of October
End of lectures: End of January
Followed by examination period
Christmas holidays: 24th of December - 6th of January (inclusive)
Summer semester
March 1 - August 31
Duration of lectures: 15 weeks
Application deadline for exchange students: November 30
Application deadline for degree students: January 15
Start of lectures: Mid-March
End of lectures: Beginning of July
Followed by examination period
Most undergraduate programs start both in the summer and the winter semesters. The following undergraduate programs start in the winter semester only:
