The Center for the Enhancement of Ethics in Science and Engineering (rtwe) is responsible for all universities of applied sciences of the federal state of Baden-Wuerttemberg and belongs to the Senior Management of Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences.

Besides offering courses for students, the rtwe is responsible for organizing and conducting ethics seminars for teaching staff. Together with other institutions, it is further in charge of projects of sustainable development, according to Rio Agenda 21. Its Scientific Advisers advise the Ethics Officers of universities of applied sciences and check the content of project applications in terms of technical and scientific ethics. They further prepare research results for didactic purposes in oder to support teaching activities in all subject areas.
