Faculty of Information Management and Media

New Dean starting September 1, 2016

From September 1, 2016 on, Prof. Dr. Michael Tewes will be the new Dean of the Faculty of Information Management and Media. Michael Tewes has been professor for German Applied Linguistics at the University of Applied Sciences since the start of the winter semester 2009/10, with a focus on text grammar and text reception. Prof. Dr. Gertrud Schaab will be the first deputy of professor Tewes and the Vice Dean of Research. Prof. Dr. Jochen Eckart, will be the Vice Dean of Teaching and Learning.

Information Management and Media: Academic Program

Today’s young professionals are continuously required to gain a broad expertise and face complex tasks and challenges upon entering the workforce. At the same time, shaping our society in a more sustainable and responsible manner within the context of a working environment with rising digital influence has become increasingly more important.

The Faculty of Information Management and Media was founded in 2012. Its 25 faculty members are devoted to teaching and research in various fields, focusing on sharing acquired, situation-based or personal data, its processing as well as the effective dissemination of data.

Our students are expected to play an active part in this dynamic process. They gain expertise by participating in interesting, active and practice-oriented courses with the goal of successfully meeting the challenges they will encounter in their professional life. The department is equipped with a number of state-of-the-art computer facilities and labs where students can become familiar with the latest software and technical innovations.
