There are information campaigns and services provided that will allow you to get to know the university before you start your studies: on Campus day or while participating in one of the many workshops offered you will have the chance to talk to professors and students that can give you first-hand information on a certain study program that you may not find in brochures or on our website.
What is sensor technology all about or what does a mechatronic engineer do? By taking a look behind the scenes, you can have such questions answered personally. Practical information or direct answers about a degree program can help you make a more solid and informed decision on what you want to study.
On the following web pages, we would like to introduce ourselves to you and encourage you to get to know us better as well as the degree program you're interested in.
Experience a hands-on tour of the university
Campus day is an excellent opportunity to inform yourself of the university's study programs and take a look behind the scenes of university life. Students and academics will introduce research projects, show you through the laboratories and answer questions around studying at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences. You will also be able to visit info stands of the university's service institutions, providing advice and assistance.
Usually, the Campus Day takes place twice a year: on the second Saturday in May and on the third Wednesday of November. The exact date of this year's Campus Days will be made available in due time on the Campus Day or the Events page.
Every year, during the fall holidays in Baden-Wuerttemberg, we invite students from grade 10 to “Try out studying”. They can participate in workshops, visit our laboratories and take part in special lectures of all faculties. Moreover, they are invited to attend regular lectures for students of the first and second semesters of all faculties.
Of course, they are welcome to inform themselves about degree programs, the application procedure or talk to current students about their experience with the university.
The young students can draw up their own timetable for the week, choosing from the various courses offered – and are free to include breaks at the cafeteria!
During the fall holidays in 2020, the "Try out studying" program is scheduled to take part from 26 to 30 October.
Secondary school students visit lectures
Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences invites all those interested in their degree programs to visit a taster lecture. The taster lectures are regular lectures offered for students of the first semesters of all bachelor's degree programs and are held in German as language of instruction.
Attend the taster lectures for a taste of the seminar, the atmosphere and environment - the lecture hall, the campus. Meet "real" students and learn about what the courses are like at a university of applied sciences.
Please see the German-language page for date details.
Enjoy the taste of university life!
